We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to work with our telecommunications client in Malta.

The successful candidate will Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports; will analyse large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company, with the goal to build data products to extract valuable business insights.

Job Description for the Data Scientist –

  • An integral part of the Customer Insights and Campaigns team, developing insights on customer behaviour, working closely with the Digital Team, Brand Team, Customer Data Analysts, BI and IT departments.
  • Work on developing and implementing campaign segmentation logic that sends the right communication, at the right time, based on customer behaviour, actions and journey stage.
  • Create and maintain predictive models such as churn prediction.
  • Present data-driven recommendations and strategies to the Customer Insights and Campaigns Manager based on findings.
  • Help the team maximize the customer lifetime value through supporting the Product Owners with personalized upsell and cross-sell propositions.
  • Based on analysis of the data provided, propose different effective ways of testing the customer’s base with offers, audiences and communications with the goal of maximising the conversion rate.
  • Analyse results of campaigns testing and make recommendations and share actionable insights with the team.

Candidate requirements for the Data Scientist –

  • You have proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst, a strong business acumen coupled with demonstrated technical ability and know how to develop, explore, analyse and present data and solutions to a business audience.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Ability to identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes; undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data; analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns; build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You are excited about finding out new ways of analysing large data sets to enhance the business knowledge that will be used for making quick decisions.
  • You place a high importance on making recommendations that are based on business and strategic targets.
  • Fully proficient in Excel and SQL, R or Python programming for statistical and predictive analysis (churn models, decision trees, cluster analysis)
