Data Scientist – REMOTE
£72,000 – £120,000 plus extensive benefits package
We are looking for experienced Data Scientists to join our clients’ innovative Advanced Analytics team providing high value business and IT consulting services to clients across multiple industries.
You will be working from home and helping to discover information hidden in vast amounts of data, allowing the business to make smarter decisions, and deliver even better products & services.
Job role and responsibilities:
The primary focus of the Data Scientist role is applying data mining techniques, carrying out statistical analysis and building high quality prediction systems integrated with products and wider solutions.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
- Working closely with Selecting features (building and optimising classifiers using machine learning techniques)
- Data-mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Extending data with third party sources of information
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
The successful candidate will be involved in the processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, be able to create automated anomaly detection systems, track performance and carry out other ad-hoc analysis as required.
Skills & Experience:
You will be a confident Data Scientist with at least 2 years commercial experience and currently working in a data related role. You will be able to demonstrate core experience with common data science toolkits such as R, Python, NumPy, MatLab, Tensorflow, keras, etc, and a likelihood of core skills in more than one of these.
Additional requirements for this role include:
- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms (such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc
- Applied experience using computer vision techniques
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as D3.js, GGplot, etc
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
- Database expertise across NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc
- Experience with computer vision, NLP and recommender systems
- Some knowledge in working with web-based systems
- Solid applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc
- Comfortable in a working from home environment
You will be ambitious, with a keenness to learn and develop at pace, and you will be provided the support and training to achieve this.
