Salary: £31,200 – £36,000 per year

Role:
Recruiting for a Customs Controller in Aberdeen this is a pivotal role that will:
• Ensure the business complies with relevant import and export legislation whilst still maintaining the ability to import and export material to meet business needs and scheduled customer delivery dates.
• Ensure the purchasing department receives support where required. Tasks may include prepare and process purchase orders, generate goods received notes and resolve any invoice related queries.
Responsibilities:
• To maintain all end use authorisation paperwork and necessary documentation to comply with HMRC authorisations.
• To enable the clearing of materials through import and export at the relevant port.
• To coordinate the integration of import/export compliance policies into functional processes.
• To support the business through knowledge of basic import and export compliance issues.
• Help to identify potential risks/gaps in import/export compliance activities.
• Calculate shipping cost for the relevant cost centres.
• Maintain all End Use Authorisation paperwork, maintaining all required administration to comply with HMRC authorisations.
• Apportion shipping invoices to cost centres.
• Prepare and process purchase orders where required.
• Generate goods received notes upon delivery of purchased orders.
• Assist with invoice queries, liaising closely with the accounts department.
• To be responsible for ensuring all work is undertaken in a safe manner in line with company health and safety guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
• 3-5 years’ experience gained in a similar Customs environment.
• An HNC in a Business, Purchasing or related subject, preferred but not essential.
• Good knowledge of import and export legislation and requirements, preferred but not essential.
• Strong Planning and Organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
• The ability to gather, review and produce data in a systematic manner that can determine trends and be used to support decision making.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Remuneration:
On offer for this position is a salary of £31,200 – £36,000with additional benefits.
