Summary of role

You will play a critical role in designing and developing high-quality learning programmes. Working closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts you will lead the curriculum development process to ensure effective learning outcomes and a positive learning experience for every learner.

Summary of Principle Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including awarding organisations and funding agencies to understand the learning objectives and requirements of the funded learning programme/pathway.
  • Lead the design and development of a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the learning objectives and meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Utilise instructional design principles and best practice to create engaging and effective learning materials, including course overviews, lesson plans, assessments, and multimedia resources.
  • Ensure the curriculum incorporates a variety of instructional methods, to include e-learning modules, in-person and/or ‘online live’ workshop, and interactive activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Product teams, and subject matter experts to design and develop critical components within the learner journey.
  • Accurately map all Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) and wider curriculum criteria to embed functional skills and information advice and guidance (IAG) into all learner journeys.
  • Ensure compliance and incorporate proven methodologies to support different learning styles and accessibility options into all programmes.
  • With the Product owner, manage the build and completion of all new programmes assigned, ensuring the timely creation of high-quality content.
  • Effectively communicate any changes to the curriculum to internal stakeholders and serve as a champion for the employed learning methodologies.

Brief person specification

Qualifications

  • Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training teaching qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to acquire one.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience of teaching across Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience of FE curriculum design.
  • Demonstrable Management experience in an FE environment.
  • Experience of leading professional development in terms of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Proven assessment track record and managing classroom environments both face to face & virtually
  • Demonstrable vocational competence as defined by programme level
  • Ability to be assertive in challenging situations with individuals or groups.
  • Ability to deliver to agreed targets.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to inspire and facilitate learning.
