Credit Hire Specialist

A busy claims department in Tunbridge Wells is looking for an experienced individuals to proactively and effectively handle Third Party Property Damage Motor Claims within the company’s Intervention/Credit Hire payment pack processes and therefore contribute to the control of overall Claims spend through minimising third party hire and repair costs.

Key Responsibilities:

•Ensure TP intervention claims are proactively managed within the agreed intervention processes.
•Control leakage by minimising the key to key time of third party claims and therefore limit the companies exposure to inflated credit hire claims.
•Utilise services of company Intervention supplier network wherever possible on appropriate claims.
•Ensure all cases are thoroughly investigated and prepared for settlement.
•Negotiate and settlement of Credit Hire payment packs in line with agreed processes.
•Maintain accurate reserves on claims at all times in line with policy and procedures.
•Manage a challenging workload to meet productivity and quality standards and to contribute to the delivery of team targets
•Proactively manage personal training and development requirements and support others personal development as appropriate
•Thorough understanding and adherence to company processes with regards to FSA/FSC compliance and Treating Customers Fairly
•Follow applicable processes, policies and procedures.
•Be pro-active and creative in your approach to every aspect of your role
•Provide guidance and support to others in the team to maximise team effectiveness.
•Identify and make recommendations on relevant process changes to ensure continuous improvement.
•Identify and refer market trends/behaviours to ensure continuous improvement.
•Ensure fraudulent claims are identified and appropriately referred
•Ensure potential large loss claims are identified and appropriately referred
•Ensure claims with the potential for ongoing loss are identified and appropriately actioned/ referred.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

Essential Skills

Motor claims handing experience.

Awareness of Intervention processes, Credit Hire principals and benefits.

Knowledge of CACHE, MID, MIAFTR.

Awareness of motor fraud indicators.

Awareness of risk factors for large loss/ catastrophic claims.

Understanding of basic liability principles and apportionment.

Understanding of the progression of insurance claims and claims functions.

Working knowledge of claims validation procedure.

Desirable Skills

Understanding of RTA / Article 75 liability.

Understanding of the legal framework and principals
