Salary and benefits: £27,600 – £34,800per annum, Holidays 24 Days plus 8 Public, (Monday to Friday 8am to 430pm)

The Role: An exciting and important opportunity has arisen to work within the Fife area focusing on the Maintenance and upkeep of the surrounding countryside. This is a broad role utilising your background in Countryside Maintenance alongside your supervisory/ management experience to oversee a team of 16 people and guide them to exceed the Service Level Agreements set out by Fife Council.

The Job: Your duties will include the following:

Ensuring the delivery of Service Level Agreements
Consistently developing the maintenance team ensuring that the needs of the sites are met
Responsibility for the day to day running and supervision of the maintenance team
Managing all assets within budget and operating within a cost effective manner
The general maintenance of all sites including routes, access, signage and maintenance
To develop work programs, design specifications, Bills of Quantities, costed work programmes and tender documents for route construction and maintenance
Liaising with appropriate organisations such as The Forestry Commission, Local and National Conservation Bodies, Landowners and councillors

The Person: You will have:

A relevant qualification at HNC level, but ideally have a Post Grad or Supervisory Management qualification
Be able to demonstrate an extensive level of Practical Countryside experience ideally including construction
A full UK driving license (Clean is preferred) with experience of driving a 4×4 with attached trailer
Previous experience of using Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel etc.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Managerial/ supervisory experience of forestry or outdoor maintenance
Knowledge of Health and Safety including Risk or COSHH assessments
