Superb opportunity to join one of the countrys fastest growing civil engineering companies in their busy Bids & Tender department.
Based from their Wembley office, this is an important position within the very busy Work-winning and Marketing teams. Reporting primarily to the Submissions Manager, as well as the Marketing Manager, the individual will be a significant asset within two very busy departments that are ultimately responsible for winning new work for the company. This is at a time of rapid growth within the construction industry and these teams are undergoing expansion to meet with market demand.
Purpose of the role
The post holder will assist in the preparation of tendering and marketing materials. The successful candidate will require an ability to write clearly and persuasively, achieving the appropriate balance between technical accuracy and marketing communications. He/she will be highly organised but flexible, with an ability to meet tight deadlines and to work well within this energetic team. He/she will also be able to communicate effectively with operations teams across the business in order to gather and update information on our showcase projects.
Main Responsibilities
Submissions support duties:
•Assist in researching, analysing and writing collateral for submissions (tenders, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), expressions of interest and post-tender work). This will be mainly tender content, such as technical and generic text, case studies and other evidence of company capability but will include any other documents relating to new projects and client relationships
•Assist in the development and maintenance of a library of frequently used materials for tendering and marketing purposes
•Research, write up and edit all technical sections within ITTs and PQQs with the support of subject matter experts
•Keep the above up to date, modifying and refocussing information to suit particular clients and audiences
•Write and update non-technical sections, for example, Health, Safety, Sustainability and Quality
•In consultation with the operational teams (e.g. Project Managers), research and write case studies and CVs to support tenders
•Research and create new marketing collateral for client meetings
•Where required, assist in completing PQQS and other questionnaires relating to industry memberships such as Achilles UVDB, client due diligence questionnaires etc.
•Proof read/quality assure all writing as required
•Desktop publish materials as required in InDesign
•Maintain accurate project records (recording factual details) within the company CRM system
•Manage a pipeline of documentation, prioritising and cross-indexing collateral so that it remains current and easily retrievable
•Help develop processes and systems around the above to ensure robust document and version control
•Any other duties as may be required by the demands of the role
Marketing support duties:
Assist in the preparation and writing of other marketing and marketing communications support materials including;
•Support the improvement of existing legacy materials
•Research and create new web text, news articles and press releases on a regular basis
•Support the Work-winning and Marketing teams in ensuring that brand guidelines are adhered to across the business
•Provide support with ad-hoc internal presentations and communications where required
Desirable skills and experience
Preferably degree qualified
Proven Technical Experience/ Knowledge
•Experience of working in an engineering or technical environment is essential
•Experience of working in the construction industry is an advantage
•Experience of working in a business development/marketing and sales environment is an advantage
Personal Skills:
•Good communication, team working, excellent organisation, self-reliance, energy and resilience
IT Packages
•Experience of using the full Microsoft Office suite is essential
•Experience of using a CRM (customer relationship management) database and an electronic document management system is an advantage
•Experience of working with InDesign and/or other desktop publishing/design software is an advantage
