A Control Software Engineer is urgently required for a manufacturer of engine test equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that customer related engine projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position requires either leading a team of software engineers or working alone depending on the size or timescale of the project.
Your key duties will be to:

h Identify and implement software solutions which meet customer RFQs
h Manage individual projects with minimum supervision
h Interpret electrical/mechanical drawings & assist in reviewing engineering designs
h Provide technical support/ training to customers and other personnel
h Capture customer requirements and produce accurate estimates for customer bids
h Generation of design and test specifications
h Configure/modify software products to meet project requirements
h Release software for in-house testing prior to installation and testing on customer site
h Take an active design/development role at any stage in a project
h Ensure that developments proceed in accordance with agreed specifications
h Produce user documentation
h Mentor less experienced staff as required

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will be qualified to at least degree level (or industrial equivalent) in a software/engineering discipline as well as at least three years experience as a Control Systems Engineer working in a real-time environment. The ideal candidate would have experience in PLC (Siemens S7) and SCADA systems, knowledge of ECU interfaces and knowledge of production engine testing in an automotive environment. A proven record in achieving project timescales and budgets is considered advantageous.

For this position, you will need to be flexible to visit customer sites in the UK and overseas, therefore you must possess a full driving license and passport. In return for your hard work you can expect a basic salary of up to £48,000along with a pension, a monthly bonus of c£500 and 25 days holiday + stats.
