Contracts Manager (Cleaning)

Salary: £33,600 – £42,000 per year

My client provide high quality cleaning, window cleaning and ground maintenance services throughout the South east including Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hants, Berks, Bucks, Essex, Herts and London. Their client base includes Housing Associations, property and FM companies, offices, residential care homes, business parks, industrial estates, private estates, local authorities, surgeries & Health Centres, universities and schools. Their turnover is circa £17m. I am currently looking for a Contracts Manager to oversee contracts in the area along the south coast from Southampton east to Eastbourne and north to Horsham. The service they provide includes a large housing association sector which will involve mobile teams cleaning building communal areas. The role holder will have overall responsibility for ensuring that processes are being followed and that teams are facilitated collaboratively to continuously improve these processes.

The portfolio will include 1 or possibly 2 large contracts and a number of smaller contracts. The team to oversee will include supervisory, admin and both mobile and static cleaning operatives. The portfolio will be made up of 95% cleaning and 5% grounds maintenance and will almost exclusively be overseeing contracts in the housing association sector. This sector is different from daily office cleaning in as much the contracts are 99% Monday to Friday 0830 to 1730 and the Contract Manager will spend more time with staff and less with clients. The role will involve ensuring that the central three groups e.g. the clients, line managers and the operating team are kept happy and will mean a 2/3 days in the field and 1 or 2 days in the office.

Candidates for this role will have previous contract management experience with the cleaning sector (ideally with housing association or similar experience), reside within “on patch” and have a UK driving license.

Salary £33,600 – £42,000 DOE, car or car derived van, tools of the trade such as laptop and mobile, 28 days holiday and NEST pension
