Salary: £210 – £270 per day

OVERVIEW; Content Editor / Digital Content Manager / Online Content Specialist / e-Learning Content Manager with experience of writing for the web and proven ability of creating eLearning content.

CONTRACT TYPE AND PAY;
Part-time Contract position from 11th April until the end of November 2016; 3 days per week for the first 4 months, and 2 days per week thereafter.
Daily rate range; £210 – £270 per day depending on skills match and experience

LOCATION; Office based in Central London but with up to 50% home working / remote working!..and occasional travel. Candidate’s living in Greater London will be prioritised.

THE COMPANY;
My well established and reputable client specialises in training and supporting Digital trainers within organisations, be they community orientated, public sector, charities or corporate businesses. They have created learning, resources and support solutions which are all part of a digital trainers network. Following receiving funding, my client is launching a nationwide, collaborative programme designed to get all of the UK population digitally aware.

THE ROLE;

My client is looking for an ambitious, creative and analytical eLearning Content Editor to fulfil a crucial role within their digital team. The eLearning Content Editor is responsible for ensuring that my client’s eLearning content is best-in-class across its website and their digital trainers platform. Reporting to the Head of Digital, this part-time role will suit an experienced content editor looking to broaden their experience and take on new responsibilities, in an organisation whose focus is to improve the lives of people throughout the UK by helping them learn the digital skills which most people take for granted and which are essential for everyday life.

Key duties and responsibilities include;

Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital learning content for my client its clients and partners

Creating and implementing a robust process to flag guide and course content that is out of date including identifying and fixing broken links
Being responsible for updating all content and on occasion working to commission writers to produce updates or new content.
Ensuring that the publishing structures on both platforms are optimised for user experience and for search engine
Being accountable for delivering content assets that are accurate, timely, high-quality (based on insight and outputs of user testing, relevance to audience, ease of understanding by the audience, SEO optimisation) and to company style
Being accountable for choosing the best format for displaying information to the user
Making sure appropriate policy and legal checking is in place, and that content is published quickly and efficiently
Monitoring the performance of content and tools and working with the wider team to understand user behaviours and feedback
Identifying ways to improve the content and iteratively to improve the product
Being at ease working in an agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads and goals
On occasion working to coordinate the activities of freelance writers and agencies to deliver content

CANDIDATE PROFILE;

• Extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability of creating eLearning content that is accessible and usable

• Proven experience in using metrics and user feedback to define/refine content

• Proven proficiency in writing, picture sourcing and editing

• Experience in choosing the best format for displaying information to the user

• A high level of proficiency in working with content management systems (Drupal an advantage).

• A good understanding of the principles of SEO

• A good understanding of encouraging and managing user-generated content including basic knowledge of the Data Protection Act

• An ability to create systems and processes for managing content

• Excellent spelling, grammar, proof-reading skills, and attention to detail

• Organisational skills and management experience
