SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for the co-ordination of our group payroll and benefits, working with the business and the outsourced payroll providers in the UK and US to provide a professional and comprehensive payroll and benefits service to the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to combine their relationship management skills, HR systems and payroll & benefits knowledge to ensure timely and accurate payroll and benefits execution for the business as a whole.

The key focuses of the role will involve working directly with managers and staff in the business to;

• Ensure accurate information is sent to the outsourced payroll providers, followed by checking of payslips/spreadsheets, and resolving any queries with the payroll provider ahead of the monthly and fortnightly payroll run(s).
• Act as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits queries.
• Ensure the HR database (Snowdrop) and related spreadsheets are accurately updated to ensure the monthly payroll deadlines are met.
• Ensure that all statutory payments are applied accurately in conjunction with our outsourced payroll providers
• Administer all company benefits liaising with our flexible benefits providers and other third party suppliers and external agencies.
• Support and work with the Head of HR throughout the annual salary and benefits review period and during other implementation periods.
• Identify opportunities for improvements to processes
• Produce regular management information (MI), and proactively collate other MI to support the wider HR team deliverables
• Drive the reward and recognition agenda across the business, ensuring that all employees understand and engage with their benefits.
• Lead on the UK pensions auto-enrolment project (staging date January 2014)

This role will report to the Head of HR. They will also work closely with the wider HR Team, the Finance team, business managers and third party suppliers/agencies i.e Flexible benefits provider, outsourced payroll partners, tax authorities and HRIS providers

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Payroll and benefits experience within a broader HR role is ideal, especially experience of liaising with an outsourced payroll provider.
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Numerate and analytical
• Knowledge of payroll systems, Sage/Snowdrop experience is desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organised and able to work on their own initiative
• Appreciates the need for confidentiality
• Strong team player, with a good sense of humour.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Proactive, with a willingness to learn and become involved in non-core tasks
• Customer focused-acts with the customers in mind and drive to provide a high quality customer service.
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible
• Knowledge/experience of non UK payroll is desirable but not essential
• Strong Excel skills essential
• Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills useful
