Communications & Marketing Officer

This is a challenging role for an experienced and pro-active Communications professional, who has a strong background as a content writer and/or copy editor. Ideally, we are looking for an individual with CIM membership, or at least a post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline to join this successful and progressive third-sector organisation.

Your remit will be to support the Communications & Marketing Manager in delivering communications and marketing campaigns, both on-line and in print. Working closely with the wider Marketing team, you will be expected to create and review content for the main website, microsites, social media platforms and printed promotional materials. In addition, you will take responsibility for the monthly e-newsletter.

This role is well-suited to a creative individual with professional writing skills and demonstrable experience of handling diverse subject matters, ideally within both the private and charitable sectors. The ability to adapt your style to suit a wide range of audiences is also essential and since your time will be split almost equally between on-line and print, we are looking for a candidate with extensive experience on both sides.

Not only should you demonstrate the ability to write effective digital content, but you should also have a general understanding of how users process web content and, ideally, an insight into website analytics and SEO/SEM techniques. A good understanding of using rich media is essential and experience of writing scripts for video and/or audio clips would be highly beneficial, as would some experience of working with photographers.

This demanding role is well-suited to an individual with a genuine passion for writing and a broad marketing base from which to draw, who wants to make an effective contribution to this worthwhile charity. You will be working within a dynamic and innovative team, where initiative and dedication are rewarded.
