Commissioning Manager

Salary: £360 – £480 per day

One of my Local Authority clients are looking to bring in an experienced Commission Manager to lead the strategic and operational commissioning of provision for populations of children and families in order to deliver improved outcomes, ensuring an efficient and effective allocation of resources within agreed budgets in line with departmental priorities.

They will be required Lead the department’s business support to deliver effective, efficient and responsive services that support operational delivery while also contributing to collective leadership of the council, working collaboratively across the organisation and with partners and stakeholders to support delivery of great services to residents.

Key Functional/Service Accountabilities

* Lead the development and delivery of commissioning to deliver improved outcomes for children and families for different populations of children and families.

* Lead all aspects of the commissioning cycle from needs analysis, defining outcomes to be improved through service re-design to contract management, review and evaluation.

* Lead on ensuring commissioning delivers value for money and effective resource allocation within agreed budget envelopes

* Lead the development of joint commissioning arrangements with partners and ensure close collaboration with operational leads.

* Ensure commissioning processes are fit for purpose and meet corporate commissioning standards and requirements

* Develop co-production with children and families to shape commissioning

* Lead on ensuring that commissioning is informed by best practice and ideas locally, nationally and internationally, with the aim of ensuring better outcomes

* Lead on ensuring that commissioned provision supports the right children, at the right time, in the right place and makes best use of resources within agreed budget envelope
