Commissioning Engineer

Salary: £36,000 – £54,000 per year

Are you a talented Commissioning Engineer who can turn their hand to installing and commissioning high-tech equipment for customers through to training the end users, to servicing and repairing the equipment, to assisting the test engineer when needed? This unique opportunity is genuinely varied and rewarding, working for a UK based manufacturer supplying specialist products into other engineering manufacturing businesses.

Bringing you skills to support this market leader in their specialist engineering field you’ll be working with a range of high-tech, high precision mechatronic products.

You and your role as the Commissioning Engineer:

• Qualifications: Apprentice trained with broad, hands-on experience of Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. Able to read electrical circuit diagrams and with good basic knowledge of CE, UKCA and machine safety
• Installation and commissioning: You’ll set up and run the Factory Acceptance Test procedures with the end customer, in close collaboration with Production and Engineering, then install and commission the equipment at the customer location
• Training and Support: Using your excellent communication skills and ability to deliver information, you will train new customers and provide technical support and trouble shoot via please apply site as appropriate
• Service and Repair: On customer sites or in the factory, you will be servicing and repairing precision welding and marking equipment using your electrical and mechanical skills
• Customer focussed: Provide a professional, quality service throughout the process on site or remotely.
• Test: Demonstrate experience of equipment testing, problem solving and fixing any issues, basic QC tasks, both in the lab environment, and at costumers’ premises
• Skills: Multi-disciplinary electromechanical engineering, methodical problem solving, self motivated, team player whilst able to work independently
• Product and Process: Specific product training will be given for their range of resistance welders, laser markers and welding equipment
• About you: ’ll demonstrate high standards of customer service and values, IT literate in MS Word & Excel, be structured yet flexible in your approach with an enquiring, logical mind
• Travel: Be able to travel about 30% of your time mainly in the UK, you will need a full UK driving licence (use own car or company /hire car) and be VISA free to travel into the EU if required.
