Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

Would you consider yourself to have good all round knowledge of Electrical Engineering including control systems such as PLC’ s – Allen Bradley (RSLogix), Siemens (S5, S7’ s), Mitsubishi, GE Fanuc, Omron etc. and Mechanical Engineering such as: Pneumatic / Hydraulic Systems, Gearboxes, Precision fitted machinery (Measured in Microns)

My client is an internationally known design and manufacturer of precision special purpose machinery. They cover a worldwide customer base designing and manufacturing top-quality, high-value machinery to a range of different customers in the UK and internationally.
The Role
As a Service/Installation Engineer you will be tasked with installation, commissioning, assembly, service, maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding and rectification of a wide range of complex precision machinery.
Your main responsibilities are:
This role has the responsibility for troubleshooting, fault finding, corrective and preventative maintenance for machinery Installed in locations worldwide such as Machine Tools, CNC Machinery, Injection Moulding Machinery, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC Controlled equipment etc?
The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting customers to fix both mechanical & electrical faults with installed machines, whilst also making visits to perform regular pre-scheduled service work
In addition to this the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of new machines.
The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical and electrical fitters to ensure observed faults are rectified on future equipment, whilst also working with PLC programmers to improve the efficiency of the machine control systems.
When not working off-site, the successful candidate will be expected to assist in the final mechanical/electrical assembly of machines along with initial commissioning of machines. In addition to this, there will be a requirement to assist in the operating of manufactured machines for preparing customer samples.
Responsibilities include:
Provide emergency assistance for customers to remedy any faults on their machine.
Plan, prepare and implement routine service work for customers with preventative maintenance contracts.
Plan, prepare and implement machine installations at customer premises.
Manage costs for performed service visits and report expenses to admin staff for invoicing.
Liaise with production and admin staff to ensure spare parts are available for service work.
Final assembly of machine tools on my client’ s site
Commissioning of finished machine tools on my clients site
Testing of finished machines on my clients site
Operation of finished machines for preparation of customer samples
The Candidate
A minimum of an HNC engineering certification or apprenticeship in a relevant field
Experience in Installation, assembly, service, maintenance and/or commissioning of special purpose machinery such as Machine Tools, CNC Machinery, Injection Moulding Machinery, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC Controlled equipment etc
Fault finding, rectification of electrical systems such as electrical circuits, relays, switchgear and their associated components.
Knowledge of PLC fault finding and part-adjusting small elements of code: Allen Bradley (RSLogix), Siemens (S5, S7’ s), Mitsubishi, GE Fanuc, Omron etc
The Package
£36,000 – £42,000per annum + a competitive benefits package & travel allowances.
South East & UK Field Service with occasional International travel to customer sites.
