Salary: £108,000 – £132,000 per year

Cloud DevOps Engineer Leading Financial Fintech based in the City

£90-110K plus package and bonus

Our Client (a Global leading financial tech) is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a Centre of Excellence focused on cloud adoption, pipelines, and re-usable application patterns. The team is fast paced and creatively tackling the firm’s biggest problems, seeking to find scalable and strategic solutions for widespread adoption. Specifically, You will be responsible for automating new integrations, extending the resiliency of the cloud foundation, and assisting with the architecture of the future application patterns as it relates to containers and data streaming/caching. As a member of this team, you will help architect and execute on the global modernization roadmap.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Implement and Mature:
  
  • Containerization patterns (e.g., Docker or Kubernetes)
  • Event driven streaming and caching patterns (e.g., Kafka/Redis)
  • Advanced CICD and branching

• Improve the cloud foundation resiliency by extending across multiple regions.
• Aid in the application adoption in application resiliency strategy for multiple region failover.
• Provide leadership in containerization of applications and best practice container usage
• Operate in a cloud native mindset for technology decisions.
• Gain an understanding of our business and applications to assess central technology needs across the firm and apply the appropriate tools and solutions.
• Grow our agile development culture through use of excellent engineering skills and a deep knowledge of DevOps methodologies.
• Work closely with Product/Application teams in technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with high level programming languages (Python strongly preferred, Java is a bonus).
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Twelve Factor App methodologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of CICD and experience with building and deploying pipelines.
• Deep hands-on experience in orchestration container platforms (cloud or on-premises such as docker, EKS, AKS, Tanzu, OpenShift, etc.).
• Deeply committed to complete automation of the complete SDLC.
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and configuration tooling (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) preferred.
• Experience with event streaming patterns.
• Deep understanding of messaging and caching platforms.
• Proven and comprehensive knowledge of APIs, infrastructure, data architecture, and security.
