Salary: £33,600 per year
Class 1 European Driver – Ashford
Essential Qualifying Criteria: Satisfactory CRC check at basic disclosure level/satisfactory 5 year back ground checks/Eligibility to work in the UK/Correct driving licence requirements for driving a Class 1 vehicle
Preferred Level D Aviation Security
Experience in a driving role that has involved staying away from home during the week.
Key Tasks
Proactively support the transport/warehouse manager, transport supervisor and team with the day to day requirements of running the department including but not limited to the following:
Comply with the working time directive and drivers hrs at all times including correct and proper use of digi cards.
Customer Service –familiarize and comply with all relevant SOP`s so that customer requirements are understood, ensure that deliveries and collections are completed in a timely manner and that you arrive at the customer premises well presented at all times and that you are polite, courteous and helpful.
Work collaboratively with fellow colleagues, supervisors and managers being supportive, sharing the work load, obtaining support where required and being flexible to changing circumstances.
Monitor temperature of load where required.
Collections/Deliveries – liaising with customer, in-house transport department, suppliers on any delays, and changes to planned route including unplanned stops and parking.
Ensure paperwork is accurate and POD`s are signed and legible and returned to the office
Vehicle Defects – Complete defects reports daily ensuring that are accurate and any defects reported. Check vehicles are carrying correct equipment, including tools, driver`s packs, bulb kits & fire extinguishers.
Loading and unloading vehicles – Ensure vehicles are loaded and secured correctly, distributing the load suitably to the vehicle whilst ensuring H&S guidelines are adhered to.
Assist the Warehouse/Transport department with additional duties during busy periods when required
Ensure vehicles are cleaned out after each shift and regular cleaned and washed inside and out
