Civil Engineering Technician

Our client delivers Building, Transport and Environmental Solutions. An opportunity has arisen for a Technician to support the Civil Engineering Department in this very successful company.

The main purpose of this role is to engage with clients where you will be responsible for drawing production on a range of civil engineering projects. Whilst you will be capable of working with minimal supervision you will work collaboratively with all levels within the team contributing to the overall project success.

You will undertake and support, the preparation of various aspects of structures design on a variety of civil engineering projects which will include gantries, retaining walls, bridges and other rail/highways/marine and civil structures. You will be responsible for the preparation of general arrangement drawings and detailed drawings and documents.

Specific Duties:
producing accurate drawings and schedules
setting up, maintaining and reviewing files for compliance standards
making drafting and engineering calculations

Experience and Skills Required:
Must have previous experience as a structural CAD Technician
Knowledge of the basic principles, terms, procedures and practices of engineering including familiarity with standard construction materials, technical manuals and legal descriptions
Familiar with the use of Oasys CadRebar
Will ideally have previous relevant experience in drawing civil engineering structures
HND/HNC or equivalent

This position will be based in Chester with flexibility to conducts site visits.
