Our client are a quality national training provider established for over 14 years delivering further education and employment opportunities. With their head office in Nottingham and operational offices in Leicester they deliver various government funded programmes such as Apprenticeships, Traineeships, AEB and other job skills programmes. Delivering training programmes in Education, Childcare, Management, Customer Service, Business Administration, Employability, IT and Digital Marketing.

The role of the Childcare Tutor / Assessor is to teach, guide and support the development and progression of participants on our apprenticeship programmes nationally. To support the delivery of the required curriculum via online delivery, face to face and delivering effective and engaging training.
You will be required to assess candidate portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal verification, you will monitor the candidate’s progress towards their qualification and give them constructive feedback, helping them to build a portfolio of evidence. You will be responsible for the planning, delivery and development of the programme. This position is suitable for a self-starter who would enjoy a varied and fast paced role.
Performance will be measured against a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) covering retention, progress, timely reviews, successful completion and progressions.
As part of our clients plans to further grow the business, they now require a talented professional to deliver the following apprenticeship programmes. The successful applicant will manage a caseload of learners in the following subject areas:
- Childcare (Early Years)
- Management (desirable)
Role and Responsibilities
- To establish good relationships with learners assigned to you, ensuring they are clear about the tasks they have been set and deadlines to meet.
- To be pro-active in communicating with learners on a monthly basis and with their workplace managers ensuring all are kept informed of progress.
- To respond to all learners within a 24hour maximum time frame responding to requests in a manner they prefer.
- Advise and support learners in the selection of units and levels, including specifying which aspects of the Standards must be assessed through performance in the workplace where appropriate.
- Provide written declaration that evidence produced is authentic and that any assessment was conducted under specified context or conditions
- Guide and support learners as to required evidence to complete learning programmes and build portfolios.
- Assess learners and provide oral and written feedback directly following assessment or within five working days
- To deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions as needed within the workplace
We would like you to have
- Assertiveness and objection handling skills
- Be Professional and approachable
- Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33
- Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above, which could include any of the following: Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training or Diploma or Certificate in Education
- Excellent IT skills – learner files are online-based and sessions/reviews are conducted with learners via online platforms.
- Access to a car with a full UK driving license
