Chief Quality Inspector – CMM

Spence Precision are recruiting for a Quality Chief Inspector – (This will lead to a Quality Manager position)
Salary £16.8 – £19.2Per Hour plus overtime & benefits

The Role
Our company is a precision engineering company founded by its current owners 40 years ago in the Gloucestershire countryside. Employing 40 staff and specialising in medium to large fabrication & CNC machining we are embarking on a growth and modernisation plan. Part of this plan is to setup a brand new inspection / quality department with a view to obtaining ISO9001 certification. This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring quality manager to start with an almost blank canvas and put his own mark on the department he or she would eventually manage. The role will be very much hands on and inspection of parts and issuing of first off inspection reports will form part of the role in the initial setup.

Skills / Experience
The ideal candidate will possess most or all of the following skills:
• A thorough understanding of ISO 9001
• Internal & external auditing to ISO9001
• Experience in programming and operating CMM machines ( training will be given)
• Implementation of quality monitoring and metrics.
• Experience with problem solving techniques and corrective actions
• Implementation and upkeep of effective calibration system.
• Advanced quality planning and creation of effective quality plans.
• Customer liaison regarding quality issues and concerns
• Creation and maintaining of quality management system
• Experience dealing with external auditors.
• Health & Safety
