Salary: £24 – £36 per hour
Our Client develops and manufactures specialist chemical and paint products for use in the finishing industry. The company is in a position to further expand its technology, both in this and other markets. The company now have an opportunity for a Paint Chemist to come and join their paint team. The role will develop over time so we are looking for a flexible and adaptable candidate who is keen to take on additional responsibility to help to move the company forward.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Paint Technical Manager, the main responsibilities include:
* Active participation in the development of new paints and coatings
* Progressing projects, safely and efficiently
* Evaluating raw materials and selecting chemistries for formulation
* Testing of paints and coatings to relevant international and company standards
* Production of regular reports on development activities and communicate results to other staff members
* Discussion of problems and resolutions with customers and the sales team to provide technical support
* Support internal QA and manufacturing staff with technical issues
Candidate Profile
* Understanding of laboratory equipment
* Ability to recognise colour differentials
* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Scrupulous attention to detail, well organised and a team player who can show initiative to get involved in all aspects of the role
* The technical support provided to customers will increase over time as experience and product knowledge is gained by the candidate.
