Salary: £33,600 – £34,800 per year

Chemist / Analytical Chemist/ Materials Scientist (contract) c28k Prorata

South East ABJ5086

6 month contract – asap start.

As a Chemist, product chemist, materials chemist or analytical chemist with a background in product development or materials characterisation or chemical analysis you are required to join a global company to assist in developing novel products.

The support required is predominantly laboratory based and will include performance testing.

Responsibilities

* Product Development

* Sample/product QA testing

* Booking in and tracking of samples/prototype devices

* Execution of prototype product characterisation at lab level, including generating emission samples for chemical analysis and device testing

* Data recording, analysis and interpretation

* Contribute to the generation of internal technical reports, study plans and presentations via provision of robust data and project support activities

* Participate in working with internal cross-functional teams on specific project activities

* Identify and communicate product and process risks and issues

* Conduct work using principles of ‘Best Practice’

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:

* A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Science Materials Chemistry, but ultimately science background (so could be /biology/physics)

* Some lab experience in materials analysis or chemical analysis or product development, product testing or experience in analytical testing

* Relevant technical experience resulting in a thorough knowledge of good laboratory practice, principles of sample preparation, measurement & analysis and relevant experience in measurement & analytical techniques.

* Quality conscious and methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail.

* Work to SOP’s.

* Able to work to good laboratory practice & familiar with common laboratory safety procedures.

* Problem solving skills

* Excellent team working skills and strong communication skills.
