Catering Assistant

Mission Care are a Christian charity established in 1904, our Christian ethos is in the heart of all we do, we currently have vacancies in all of our homes for experienced catering staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall care we provide our residents by contributing to our residents meal times, you will be working in the kitchen preparing food to a high standard, you will also have the opportunity to interact with our residents when you take the food trolley to the dining rooms.

You will be will be working under the direction of the Cook, a positive attitude and good communication skills is essential.

Summary of duties

Ensure that a high standard of hygiene when preparing food for the residents
Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for residents within the guidelines laid down by the Chef Manager.
Assist with food service by taking food and beverage trolley to the dining area within the home.
Assistance with meal service as directed by Chef Manager
Assist with deliveries
Washing up
Participate in cleaning as per cleaning rota
Communicate positively with residents and relatives within the home promoting Mission Cares ethos and values
Work collaboratively and as part of a team with all colleagues in order to maintain the quality of catering within the home.
Assist colleagues in their duties where necessary in order to deliver the best level of service.

Preferred skills

To be aware of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) within the kitchen.

To be familiar with food hygiene
