Overview for the Category Manager role:
They are a truly fantastic employer, with superb offices and where people actually enjoy going to work. The Category Manager is responsible for developing and managing the supply chain and portfolio with a view to maximising market opportunity to drive value, increasing company profitability.
Responsibilities for the Category Manager:
* Work closely with sales and assess opportunities to ensure that the demand for products are sufficiently pipelined with suppliers
* Working with sales to provide an accurate invoice forecast and management of that forecast to budget
* Supporting sales and Business Management on large opportunities
* Ensure that the managed portfolio aligns with the business product strategy
* Managing product and their lifecycle, rotating stock and implementing supersessions where appropriate to minimise commercial risk
* To work with the business and support with product queries in a timely manner
* Forecast, drive and manage the product revenue, GP and rebates against company budget
* Manage and ensure correct utilisation and valuation of all DEMO/LOAN stock
* Develop strong relationships and manage suppliers and vendors
* Actively seeking incremental margin for the business through negotiation of special pricing, terms and deliveries
* Managing product companion and bundle strategy in line with business requirements
* Ensure new suppliers are strategic and onboarded as per the supplier onboarding process
Person Spec for the Category Manager:
* Similar experience within IT channel / Software or End User Computer devices
* Strong, proactive communication skills, able to gain commitment and buy-in to a common vision and clearly stated goals
* Commercial acumen providing the ability to make and justify decisions
* Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge with regards to products and processes
* Desire to provide excellent service to both internal and external customers
* Always demonstrate a professional manner when dealing with internal customers and our external supply chain partners
