Care Home Nurse (Nights) – South West Wales

Salary: £16.8 – £19.8 per hour

My Client is a nursing and residential home in South West Wales, and have built up a very good reputation for dealing with elderly patients over the past 25 years of service. Their staff turnover is very low with some of their nurses having been there since the start. The home is a converted manor house set on 5 acres of land. They have only 30 beds available as they are keen to make sure the standard of care doesn’t dip and they are always providing the best service.

They are recruiting for a full time registered nurse (RGN or RMN) you will be:-

* Based at their nursing home in South West Wales – close to Llangeler (SA45 postcode)

* Dealing with 30 beds on your shift along with another nurse

* Caring for elderly residents, some of which will be post stroke care, cancer care, Parkinson’s and MS care

* Working 3 nights over a 7 day period (2 on, 2 off, 1 on, 2 off for example)

* Working 8pm till 8am

* Assessing patients, helping with catheters, doing medical and drug rounds, venepuncture, wound dressing, and giving subcutaneous fluids to rehydrate the residents

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements

* You need to be a Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) at least to level 1

* Have a valid NMC Pin

* Living within travelling distance to the home in South West Wales (SA45 area)

* Being able to drive would be an advantage – parking available

* Having experience with the elderly would be a major advantage

* As a nurse you need to be able to pass a CRB security check
