Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year
Job Title: CAD Technician
Location: Leeds (LS9)
Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000
Main Purpose of Job:
To assist architects, engineers, construction teams in the correct specification of clients products by means of sketches, proposals, team’s meetings & onsite meetings.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineering or construction professional to join an expanding technical team, with a very modern, impressive manufacturing company.
Responsible to:
Senior Design Manager
Main Tasks of Job:
- Provide sketch proposals using AutoCAD for discussion
- Provide marked up elevations using AutoCAD for discussion
- Problem solving (coordination of clients products in and around others)
- Offer advice to design teams (architects / structural engineers / façade engineers / technical coordinators / technical managers / design managers / quantity surveyors & project managers)
- Attend workshops both online & on-site
- Guide design teams to the most economical solution to aid with securing work
- Carry out design calculations on products
- Carry out costings for budgetary purposes
- Support the Specification Managers with their company targets using smart thinking (design solutions)
- Assist in the commercial running of the specification team working closely with the senior design manager
- Negate risk to the business by limiting exposure with regards to design responsibility
- Evaluate designs & proposals set by others
- Challenge solutions without compromising our position on design responsibility
- Monitor design reviews to limit the amount of work we do at certain stages of the design process
- Manage projects to the point of order
