CAD Technician

The Company:

Our client is an Independent Connections Provider and deliver a flexible and rapid response service to a wide range of utility connection requirements – bringing projects in on time and budget, due to expansion they are looking to recruit a CAD Technician for their London operation:

The Role:

The CAD Technician will undertake the preparation of detailed drawings using AutoCAD associated with the construction and installation of New Electricity Contestable Connections up to and including 33/66kV.

Responsibilities:

* Production of CAD drawings to a high quality in accordance with our client’s CAD standards.
* Coordination with other CAD technicians in the production of drawings
* Ability to understand and apply design within the remit of individual projects.
* Willing, keen and able to develop expertise in the design area
* Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with our client’s Business Management Systems and customer requirements/procedures
* Planning and undertaking inspections and surveys of electrical installations following safe procedures

* Manual Handling.
* Environmental Hazard Awareness.
* General Health & Safety Awareness.
* Site Safety Awareness.
* Health & Safety Awareness.
* Basic Electrical Safety.
* Understanding of COSHH.
* Understanding Utility Plans.
* Working Knowledge of PC based computer systems.
* CDM Awareness.
* Knowledge of Electricity Distribution Systems.
* Microsoft Project.
* Good problem-solving skills.
