Permanent position

A successful manufacturing company based in Surrey are currently looking for a Draughtsperson to join their CAD Team in a permanent position.

Role Summary

* Working closely with Customer Service, Quotations, Costing and Production Depts. to deliver optimal designs, drawings, structures & factory routings for both standard & bespoke products

* Producing Electrical Wiring layout drawings based on client site plans and architectural drawings marked up by the technical specification team

* Producing related mechanical drawings using AutoDesk CAD package

* Interpreting requests from the Quotations Team and from Customers, converting into meaningful specifications for bespoke products to be quoted

* Completing and checking part structures and routes making ‘buildable’ on our ERP system to release for manufacture

* Adding part structures and routes to IFS for special parts and assist with standard parts as necessary

* Providing relevant approval drawings to the customer, ensuring that the appropriate approvals are received before production is allowed to commence

* Reviewing of customer orders to ensure drawing BoM and Order BoM match in all cases

* Ensuring all drawings are created, revised and stored in the correct manner

Experience required:

* AutoCAD (2D) experience

* A good understanding & appreciation of relevant engineering concepts & processes:

* Design for manufacture & production engineering; working closely with the factory to optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency & quality,

* Engineering change processes; understanding & ensuring adherence to engineering change processes to ensure impacts of changes are correctly & completely implemented

* A good understanding & experience of creating system drawings such as CCTV, Fire alarm or Network wiring diagrams would be beneficial

* Computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

* Excellent eye for detail, ensuring high accuracy & quality of output

* Professional, positive and driven

* Good problem-solving skills

* Ability to understand and meet targets

* Excellent administration and organisation skills

Additional Details

37 hours per week

26 days annual leave allowance + Bank Holidays per year
