C / C++ Software Engineer – Urgent Contract – Cambridgeshire

Contract Software Engineer is required for an intial 3 Month Contract in North Cambridgeshire. The successful Software Engineer will work within a mixed-discipline R&D team developing Embedded Software and PC Software in C++ with a bias towards the User Interface and the Business Logic layer.

Software Engineer – Responsibilities:

* Design, implement and debug new software features working on a variety of platforms including real-time embedded and desktop applications

* Produce high quality design documentation for new product features

* Develop unit tests for existing and new code

Experience required:

* 5 or more years relevant experience in Software Engineering

* Strong C++ Software design and development for Embedded & PC applications

Advantageous skills:

* Windows CE, UML, SysML, Qt

* Appreciation and experience of OOP design and SDLC

* Prior experience of agile methodologies – SCRUM

* Knowledge of version control tools – particularly Subversion

* Sound understanding of real-time software techniques and principles and an appreciation of networked devices, distributed processes and packet-based protocols
