Salary: £28,800 – £31,200 per year
Buyer – Corby – 24,000 / 26,000
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Buyer with immediate effect for our client who continue to grow, based in Corby, in Northamptonshire.
Buyer – duties and responsibilities:
To source materials and negotiate rates with suppliers.
• To solve problems that may arise on site in a proactive manner.
• Establish excellent working relationships with suppliers, site teams and contracts management.
• To ensure the supplier contacts list is kept up to date.
• Carry out ad hoc material enquiries for tenders as and when required by project management team.
• To be constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the supply chain and bring new suppliers on board.
• To carry out meetings with suppliers to discuss the accounts and any rebates that can be put in place. To further mentor the junior buyer on what is expected to come out of a meeting.
• Manage the rebate agreements each month and put forward ideas on who we need to be targeting to achieve these.
• To input purchase orders onto Sage Job Costing.
• To check invoices against PO’s for authorising.
• To negotiate deals and manage the booking of hotels across the business.
• Manage the material rates document, ensuring all rates are up to date along with consistently trying to bring them down.
• Be self-motivated & punctual.
• Manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
• To carry out other duties in relation to administration and compliance in all areas of the business.
• Process routine documentation.
• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post
• To work in accordance with set policies and procedures.
• To respect the confidential nature of the work and protect personal information in accordance with data protection regulations and policies in place.
You will have experience as a Buyer and be a great team player with a very strong work ethic.
