Business Transformation Lead – Ktp Associate

Salary: £29,353 – £32,058 per year

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a new partnership between Chester Business School and Enbarr to deliver management transformation as part of a Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership (mKTP). The mKTP is a strategic tripartite relationship between Enbarr, the University, and an Associate.

The job purpose is to support the development and adoption of new management tools, policies, and structures, and the integration of these through enabling wider teams and stakeholders to embrace these innovations.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Chester Business School in collaboration with Enbarr has successfully won a grant funded by Innovate UK and Welsh Government to drive growth in line with Enbarr’s mission – to build prosperous communities through social and economic development across North Wales and the Mersey Dee region, including some of the most deprived areas in Wales according to the Welsh Indices of Multiple Deprivation.

Strategically, Enbarr is organised as (1) Enbarr Enterprises Ltd which provides staffing, training, and upskilling services for a range of strategic commercial sectors such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, and aerospace, and (2) Enbarr Foundation CIC which designs and delivers collaborative projects to enable some of the most vulnerable in the region to participate in employment. The Foundation is a strategic initiative seeking ambitious growth in social and economic regeneration projects to tackle long-standing disadvantage in a way which future-proofs a longer-term supply and demand of local skills in the region.

Enbarr has been increasingly successful in bidding for and leading regional development projects, and the vision of this mKTP is to transform Enbarr’s management team’s capability to adapt its management structures, processes and capabilities as it grows and faces increasingly complex management structures and product offerings, enabling it to effectively and efficiently balance shorter term operational demands with longer term growth (i.e. an ‘Innovation Ambidexterity’ management strategy).

This mKTP has five stages and the role will contribute to each stage:

1: Develop awareness of Innovation Ambidexterity resources and priority development areas across Enbarr’s business activities.

Stage 2: Pilot and embed new management tools (e.g. decision and delegation matrices) with teams for key business processes.

Stage 3: Embed re-engineered and stress-tested models for business operations scoping, prospecting practices, and stakeholder engagement.

Stage 4: Revise formal policies, procedures, job descriptions, and contracting protocols.

Stage 5: Develop new induction, training, and development packages for Enbarr staff, contractors and volunteers, and Enbarr-wide organisational learning process.

The mKTP Associate will be employed by the University of Chester, but located full time at Enbarr premises in Queensferry and the John Summers regeneration site in Shotton.

The successful Associate will be an employee of the University of Chester with access to its employee benefits, and will also have access to a professional development budget of £4,000 during the project.
