Job Position: Business Systems Technical Support Analyst

Job Status: Permanent

Job Purpose:

An extremely varied, challenging role in a busy department. Working with an existing team of Business Analysts, IT Specialists and Third party support companies to help implement & support Business Systems; including SharePoint, SAP & other applications.

The role’s core responsibilities will include the complete system lifecycle: specification, design, testing, implementing, documenting, support & maintenance of Business Application’s and Reports.

Qualifications:

Degree level education in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Science, Engineering, Analytical subject or equivalent commercial experience.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

* Strong Analytical, methodical troubleshooting Skills.
* Experience in application support & administration.
* Experience in Report Writing Tools & associated development lifecycle.
* Experience in, and a good understanding of MS SQL Server/Relational databases
* Proficient in Windows, MS Office
* Good communication skills (both written & verbal).
* Good customer facing skills & experience of working with third parties
* Pro-Active approach.
* Demonstrate historically continuous improvements, effort, and willingness to adapt, and learn new technologies.
* Flexible approach to work. Occasional requirement to work outside of office hours.

Responsibilities:

* Work with the team & business in an internal customer facing role to get the best possible solutions & processes for Business Systems.

Develop Specifications for both Applications & Reports

Report and Query writing

Data Management and SQL Server database management

Data Migration activities

Testing developments

Issue Resolution

Problem Management

Documentation

Training

* Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation.
* Resolving Production Support Incidents for Business Systems and Reports.
* Support Business Systems Problem management and associated Change requests.
* Job may require occasional travel to other Sites.

The work will comprise of as follows:

* Support of existing applications, including SAP and SharePoint, through the use of the helpdesk system.
* Work with Business Analysts, IT & Third Parties in Application Support.
* Specification, Design, Development & Maintenance of Reports & Reporting environment.
* System Administration & MSSQL Server Administration / Development.
* Investigation of application problems/incidents in a mixed application environment – Java,.NET, SQL, SAP.
* The role requires specific expertise in MS SQL Server Support, Reporting Tools, data analysis/modelling and SharePoint. Knowledge of any coding languages is advantageous e.g. VBA, Java, ASP.Net; though this is not a developer role.

Basic Hours: 37.5

Salary/Rate: £42,000 – £54,000
