What’s it all about?

 

The Business Development Manager – Residential will provide the field-based, face to face management of residential mortgage brokers within a defined geographical region. Reporting into a Regional Business Development Manager, you’ll assist in the creation of, and then be responsible for, the execution of contact strategies with brokers in your area.

 

As the customer facing representative for Atom within the intermediary community in your region (North East, England), the role holder is responsible for delivering training to a high standard, building, and maintaining relationships and driving both required mortgage quality and volume to align to the banks business plan.

 

Working alongside the Telephone and Regional Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for the front-line onboarding, oversight, relationship management and quality of application through the intermediary channel in the allocated region; ensuring brokers are bought in to our proposition, trained on our systems, informed on our products and criteria, comply with our regulations and standards, and deliver the right outcomes for our customers.

 

Over time the BDM will become an expert in the field of mortgages and deliver outstanding service to our intermediary partners working closely with our internal teams to ensure quality and compliance throughout the onboarding process and product lifecycle.

 

 

 

 

What will your typical day look like?
Different that’s for sure…

  • Develop, implement, and grow the intermediary and business proposition within the allocated region.
  • Identify, build, and maintain excellent broker relationships.
  • Grow and maintain “expert” level knowledge in Atoms residential lending policy and where it sits in the market.
  • Deliver against prescribed productivity and activity metrics that will include broker interactions/visits/presentations, lending volume, lending quality, broker engagement and regulatory adherence for you and your brokers.
  • Work with the RBDM to create and execute on effective account management strategies.
  • Attend and represent Atom at broker/industry events.
  • Feeding into the RBDM, act as a conduit for the bank regarding market intelligence and product insight.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Atom in your local broker community always aligned to the vision and values of Atom.
  • Conduct these duties in full compliance with all financial services regulation including but not limited to TCF and Consumer Duty.

 

 

What do we need from you?

  • Understanding of the UK intermediary market
  • Experience of working to and delivering against targets that satisfy commercial, quality and customer requirements
  • Experience in a mortgage related role, ideally in business development. (BDM/TBDM/Account Manager/Broker)
  • Ability to delivery effective and compelling presentations
  • Willingness to self-develop and continuously gain knowledge of the UK mortgage market
  • Full, clean driving license and own vehicle (Car allowance will be provided)
