We have been engaged to recruit for this position of Building Services Manager.

Our Client is a major national building contractor with a network of offices up and down the Country. Working out of their regional Yorkshire offices you will join an expanding building services (mechanical and electrical) function. This business is in the process of transitioning away from sub-contracting MEP delivery and bringing it in-house; a self-delivery model, if you will.

As Building Services Manager your role will be twofold, you will ensure the smooth running of sites and ensure MEP services are being installed on time, within budget and to demanding quality standards. In addition to this standard Building Services Management function, our Client is also looking for someone to get involved in the pre-construction side of their business. From vetting tenders to being involved in the design process, this is a senior MEP role within one of the best-known builders in the Country.

Owing to the senior nature of this role we are looking for a Candidate with large-scale building services experience, by which we mean we need someone who is familiar with larger projects (£multi million) in terms of MEP value. You will be multi-discipline (as in will be familiar with both mechanical and electrical services) albeit it is understood that you will have a natural bias towards either mechanical or electrical. It is not an essential criteria but ideally, that bias would be toward mechanical services (HVAC). This experience will have been gained within either a leading national building services contractor or one of the large independent regional MEP contractors.

In addition to this operational experience, my Client is looking for someone with a good amount of exposure to pre-construction – both commercial and design-wise. Their building services team is a small but expanding one and this role will be towards the more senior end of that team, hence the extensive skills and experience we are looking for.
