Automotive Mechanic – Darwin

We are currently working with one of Australia’s premier auto-dealerships based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Due to continued expansion and business gains, our clients have a number of vacancies for experienced Auto-mechanics who will perform mechanical and technical service & repair work on a number of high quality luxury cars.

The successful candidate will be based in the service department of the clients main workshop in Darwin, NT reporting to Workshop Foreman.

Duties will include:

* Carrying out vehicle repairs and/or maintenance on a variety of quality cars as per the repair order to manufacturer and dealership requirements
* Ordering parts (where necessary) from the parts and accessories department
* Maintaining a sound knowledge of all dealership products and services
* Responsible for the care and use of all workshop tools and equipment
* Carrying out warranty work and ensuring all warranty parts are tagged with the correct information and placed in warranty storage
* Correctly completing all works as per standard repair times guide
* Attend Manufacturer training (as directed)
* Participate in probationary and annual performance appraisals
* Report all customer complaints (internal and external) and conditions that are adverse to the operational efficiency of the department
* Follow workplace procedures and instructions to achieve good OHS practice
* Identify and report unsafe, unhealthy or hazardous working conditions
* Ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out to the highest possible level of quality in the most efficient and effective manner

Essential requirements

* Experienced in mechanical repair and servicing of cars
* Exposure to top quality models and brands including Mercedes, Chrysler, Mazda, Nissan, Holden and Dodge
* Knowledge of diagnostic equipment
* Full driving licence
* Served an Apprenticeship or qualified to Certificate III in Automotive Repair
* Good communication and standard of written and spoken English
