Automated Gate and Barrier Physical Security Engineer

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Are you an Automated Gate and Barrier (Physical Security) Engineer with a proven background in the installation, service or maintenance of PERIMETER SECURITY / ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS, preferably within the Utilities Sector?

This is a permanent, full time role for a NATIONAL Automated Gate & Barrier Engineer / Automated Entry Systems Technician, to join a rapidly growing, reputable business who specialise in the concept, design, manufacture, build, installation, service, and maintenance of Perimeter Security Systems to some of the UK’s major Utilities companies such as The National Grid.

This Installation, Service & Maintenance Engineering role is a pivotal part of yours and their continued success.

AUTOMATED GATE AND BARRIER (Physical Security) ENGINEER – UK WIDE

LOCATION: Field based Automated Gate Engineer. You will need a full driving licence and be willing to travel across the UK with access to motorway routes, Central to the UK such as the M1. You may be living in Birmingham, Worcester, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Kidderminster, Warwickshire, Leicester, Sheffield, Derby or Nottingham.

SALARY: £36,000 – £48,000 (doe) plus VW Transporter, fuel card, laptop, mobile, iPad, annual pay review, bonus, pension scheme, ongoing training, 28 days holiday (inc BH), annual pay review, all expenses paid, use of Welder/ Generator, 110v/ Battery Plant / Equipment.

HOURS: 40-hour week + overtime opportunities + overnight allowance / call out benefits.

As an Automated Gate Systems Engineer, reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for the installation, service and maintenance of Automated / Automatic / Manual Swing & Sliding Gates / Barriers / Bollards / Turnstiles Systems and possibly other areas of PIDS – Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems, in accordance with the works specification and Health & Safety Standards.

*Ensuring that all risk assessments, method statements, and company management systems & processes are adhered to.

*Checking that components and equipment are ordered as and when required.

*Demonstrating the completed systems / individual works to clients / end users.

*Arranging PAT and Calibration of company issued equipment.

*Completing Asset Tagging and Registration of Information.

*Overseeing site works / activities.

*Reporting any quality issues / any deviation from arrangements to the Line Manager and any Health & Safety issues with the H&S Director.

As an Automated Systems Technician, you must be able to interpret and understand Electrical Wiring Diagrams / Technical Drawings / Technical Documentation as well as use a Digital Voltmeter / Insulation Tester. You will be confident in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Fault-Finding, be able to complete precise Engineering Reports – You must be PC & IT Literate.

You will be a diligent, self-starter, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, able to work both individually and as part of a team. As an experienced Automated Systems Technician, you will have proven Electrical Competencies and training in a similar Engineering role, excellent Mechanical Engineering Skills, 18th Edition Training, C&G Inspection & Test qualification, DHF Automated Gate Safety Diploma, valid CSCS card, Utilities Operational Competencies, Control Cabinet /Kiosk- Build & Wire, Gate Safe Training.
