My client is currently looking for talented people to join their Financial Services Practice within the South West (Bristol and Cardiff)

The South West and Wales audit team has approximately 100 people based out of the Bristol and Cardiff offices working on a highly diverse portfolio of audit assignments. They work with clients across the private sector, including large publicly listed clients, private equity backed companies, medium sized limited companies, owner-managed businesses and charities.

The diversity of the client portfolio means that they offer a unique experience for new assistant managers / manager. New managers develop a breadth of skills and experience with different clients. They offer an exciting, dynamic environment for their people to develop and identify their areas of interest. Through the mentoring and development programme, they work with their assistant managers to build on their interests and support them in their progression to more senior levels.

They have an excellent team culture with an active social committee. There are plenty of opportunities for new managers to get to know their colleagues and quickly become an integrated part of the team.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will have responsibility for:

  • Take a lead role in audit planning and risk assessment
  • Manage on-site teams delivering audit engagements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients
  • Become a specialist in your field
  • Develop and mentor more junior members of staff
  • To qualify for the role you must have:

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional experience
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Planning and project management skills
  • Good team player with strong organisational skills
  • Proactive

Highly motivated with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a fast paced environment audit practice offers a wide ranging and challenging number of business areas including business assurance within our Corporate Groups, Public Sector Audit and also Financial Services Audit.
