Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Mep – Building Services)

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

Parkinson Gray Associates are a Yorkshire based recruitment business, specialising in the provision of the best building services talent to the MEP contractor and Consultancy sectors in our region. We have been engaged to assist one of our Clients, a leading building services contractor, in their acquisition of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

As an Assistant M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in all of the duties expected of a Quantity Surveyor, albeit under the supervision of my Clients Commercial team. Quantity Surveyors are the “Accounts” of the construction sector. Within a Contractor, a QS will look after all financial aspects of a portfolio of projects. With this Client, projects will range from small scale up to circa £500K. You will be responsible for pricing, measuring, setting up the contract, engaging sub-contractors valuing the project through to the completion, dealing with both subcontractors and client payments and their final accounting of all works upon completion.

Whilst this is an Assistant Quantity Surveyor role, we are looking for someone with relevant experience for this role. We are looking for a Candidate to have at least six months of experience, ideally within a building services contractor and, even better, with experience within retail contracting. Perhaps you are working towards completing your Degree in quantity surveying.
