Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, whom we are recruiting for on behalf of a successful main contractor working throughout East Anglia The candidate would be site based near Mildenhall working with a visiting Senior Quantity Surveyor who would provide mentoring and guidance, whilst helping to assist with commercial management of projects. There will be a variety of projects including build and civils work.

ROLE:

* Preparing bills of quantities and re-measure works

* Procurement of sub-contractors

* Managing costs on a wide variety of projects

* Valuing works as they progress and agreeing final accounts

* Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required

* Develop awareness of the different building contracts in current use

* Preparing and analysing costings for tenders

* Liaise with operational staff to maintain records

CANDIDATE:

* Experience working as a Trainee/Assistant QS

* HNC/HND qualification in construction related subject

* Ability to deliver high quality commercial service to clients

* Experience issuing tender enquiries

* Experience placing sub-contractor orders

* Good communication and interpersonal skills
