Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year
Our client is a small to medium sized well known principal contractor that work within the rail environment primarily working with Network rail and TFL. Their scope of works covers predominantly infrastructure work, including all aspects of station refurbishment and redevelopments, line extensions, and track redevelopments, and new build station work, along with fit-out and finishing both internally and externally, where they will work as principal contractor on site from start to finish.

• Thermit Welding
• Tower Maintenance
• Embankment Stabilisation
• Emergency Restoration Services
They are looking for a graduate engineer with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience to join their business as an Assistant Project Manager, initially based on 1 development under a roaming Senior Project Manager, and eventually progress to overseeing up to 4 sites at a time, with the option to be based either at their head office in Slough, or on site in London. You will be required oversee a team of staff including site agent and subcontractors, and liaise with clients and internal commercial and technical staff in order to deliver projects to a high standard, on time and on budget whilst keeping the sites a safe place to work.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 3 years industry experience
• Civil Engineering Degree or similar
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations
• Experience of contract negotiation, business administration and process improvement
• NEC contract administration
• People Management Skills
• Strong leadership, decision making & resilience
• Experience of developing effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders and client groups
• An ability to work within a complex technical team to deliver against objectives
• An ability to implement organisational and project management skills to deliver activities within tight time periods
• APMP, PRINCE2, or Primavera P6 Qualifications & Training are a bonus
In return they are looking to offer a basic salary ranging from £42,000 – £54,000with a £5K car allowance, bonus, pension, healthcare and other bonuses, with fantastic progression paths throughout the business all the way up to Director, and a keen focus on personal development.
