Our client is a global design, engineering and manufacturing company with offices all the world and a history of over a 100 years. They pride themselves on the quality and innovation of their products and offer a superb working environment. They are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. This position is an absolutely brilliant opportunity for a Graduate with a relevant degree such as business, finance, accounting or similar, and ideally some finance experience such as a placement year or a couple of years post degree, to build a fantastic career as there is amazing development and training opportunities. Funding available for further study such as CIMA.
Main responsibilities;
• Providing commercial finance support to the various parts of the company both UK and Overseas.
• Accurate and timely recording of Point of Sale and Inventory data to support the Global organisation, helping to identify and document growth or penetration in our target markets, as well as highlighting trends and developing forecasting techniques.
• Build close working relationships with defined internal customers to ensure solid understanding of their business and their needs for financial support.
• Provide monthly support to ensure timely and comprehensive completion of the Strategic Deployment Plan (SDP). This will include providing gap analysis and providing support to customers in identifying appropriate counter measures.
• Successfully operate as the primary contact person for cost analysis and creation of the cost budget.
• Preparation of ad-hoc analysis to provide the business with accurate and timely information in order to support commercially sound business decisions.
• Manage and deliver continuous improvement of processes and I.T. systems in line with the Americas business strategy and Key Performance Indicators.

Main skills needed:
• Relevant degree such as Finance, Accounting, Business, IT or possible Science based
• Minimum 2:1 degree level
• Possess a desire to build a career within Finance
• Possess excellent Excel skills; Pivot tables for example
• Highly numerate, ability to understand and analyse numerical information and data
• Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Ability to communicate and work with internal customers across functions, seniority levels and cultures
• Ability to operate successfully in a fast moving environment essential
• Demonstrate a pro-active, flexible and pragmatic approach.
• IT literate
