Assistant Finance Manager

Salary: £30,238 – £35,644 per year

This well-established Academy are looking for an Assistant to the Finance Manager to join their team. Due to the nature of working within for an Academy you will be required to work term-time only with some additional support required over the summer months. 

Assistant Finance Manager – About The Role

This client is open to reviewing candidates on either a part-time basis (minimum of 30 hours per week) or full-time candidates. You will be working alongside the existing finance team within the Trust, whereby you will be supporting the team with the preparation of management accounts for specific sites.

This position has become available due to the growth of this Trust, therefore will be plenty of opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skillset within the finance spectrum. Your key responsibilities will be:

• Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of Management Accounts and Year-End Statutory Accounts
• Support the finance team to ensure smooth running of all aspects of income, expenditure in relation to budget expectation, producing analysis around the variance
• Supporting the Finance Manager with accruals, prepayments
• Assist the Finance Manager with the reconciliation of the company’s payroll, monitoring budgets vs forecast and update where appropriate
• In conjunction with other members in the finance team, oversee the approval process on supplier invoices
• Banking transactions and reconciliations
• Updating the Asset Register report, ensuring that this is regularly updated
• Supporting with the preparation of the annual audit.

The successful Assistant Finance Manager will have:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• AAT qualified or QBE candidates will be considered
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Advanced Excel
