Our client is the UK’s market leader for the collection and conversion of catering waste streams into renewable energy such as electricity, mains gas and biodiesel. They are also the UK’s leading cooking oil wholesaler and used cooking oil collector. A vacancy currently exists for an Assistant Depot Manager based at the company’s Cumbrian Depot.

Reporting to the General Manager, your main duties will include:

• Ensure the depot is operated in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.
• Maintain the effective routing and management of all operational resources, ensuring they remain legally compliant and in a good state of repair.
• Line manage drivers and allocated staff within the depot.
• Deliver a safe service in line with agreed customer expectations.
• Maintain and expand the customer base across the region by supporting customer service teams and associated sales activities.

• People management experience desirable, supervisory experience essential.
• Experience in customer relationship management essential.
• Experience in waste, transport or logistics industry desirable.
• Knowledge of applying Driving hours, Tachograph and Working Time Regulations desirable.
• Excellent administrative skills and proficient in the use Microsoft Office.
• CPC Qualification (or willingness and capability to complete).
• IOSH Managing Safely certification (or willingness and capability to complete).
