This Assistant Branch Manager vacancy is based in Winchester but may well suit relevant candidates living in any nearby towns or cities.

Established in 1842 and still family owned today, Elliotts are Hampshire’s leading Independent Builders Merchant with 12 branches strategically located across the county including Elliotts Premier Roofing &, Elliotts Insulation & Drylining, in Southampton and Elliotts Tool Centres in Fareham, Portsmouth, Totton & Winchester.
Our Winchester Tool Centre is pivotal to our company tool sales, handling £3m of products, both through sales and distribution to the other tool centres in our branch network.

Due to our success we are now looking to recruit an Assistant Branch Manager!

Assistant Branch Manager Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for assisting with the running of our busy Winchester branch, which sells a wide range of power tools and fixings. This role also encompasses Telephone Sales, working proactively to increase branch sales.

– Provide support to the branch manager
– Opening/closing the shop
– Stock control
– Banking
– Regularly updating the website with correct pricing and in line with competition
– Issuing regular sales flyers
– Monitoring the flow of customer orders to ensure an efficient service is provided
– Assisting in managing staff i.e. training
– Processing orders over the telephone, internet and email
– Ordering products
– Negotiating prices
– Administration

The Ideal Assistant Branch Manager:

– Previous experience in an Assistant Manager or Supervisory role would be preferable
– Enthusiasm for sales
– Excellent telephone manner
– Professionalism and exceptional organisational skills
– Knowledge of power tools
– Committed to high standards of customer service

Working Hours:
• 42.5 hour, 8am-5pm Monday – Friday
