Conrad Connect are pleased to be working with a leading accountancy practice who are looking for an assistant accountant to join their business services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to develop their experience working with a wide variety of businesses. The successful candidate will need to have a full clean driving license as some duties may be carried out at the clients’ premises. They will also have previous involvement in accounts preparation work, an understanding and experience of personal and corporate tax. Basic bookkeeping skills, along with experience in payroll, and the preparation of VAT returns, would be helpful, but not essential.

This role will predominantly involve preparing financial accounts as well as corporation and personal tax compliance. There will also be bookkeeping work and preparation of VAT returns.

The ideal candidate will:

Be part or fully AAT qualified
Be looking to embark on or continue with the ICAEW/ACCA qualification, although this is not essential
Possess a high level of IT proficiency and the ability to use various packages (Word, Excel, Sage Line 50, Xero and Quickbooks)
Have recent experience within a UK accountancy practice
Be competent in dealing with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
Have a full clean UK driving licence and access to own transport, with willingness to travel to assignments
