Assistant Accountant

My client is a leading UK Manufacturing business based in South Leicestershire, due to impressive sales and continued growth they now have a vacancy for a Assistant Accountant.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will gain experience across a broad selection of tasks to include:

• Assist the company Financial Controller with completion of the monthly routine
• Management of company Purchase, Sales and General Ledgers – Journals, Accruals, Pre-Payments
• Closing of ledgers and arranging timely payment of suppliers and resolution of queries
• Control company’s aged debtors with proactive chasing of overdue balances from customers across the UK
• Produce detailed reports on Orders, Sales, Output, Productivity and Purchase Price
• Stock management to ensure verification of stock values, working closely with Material Control and Estimating
• Responsible for the running of company weekly and monthly payroll for around 250 staff
• Management of VAT, PAYE, NI, and Corporation Tax
• Administration support for HR, insurances and vehicles

Applicants must have previous accountancy experience, preferably gained within a manufacturing environment, however this is not essential.

A broad overview across all accounting is required as is a can do approach and willingness to muck in no matter how basic or detailed the task may be.
