Assessor in Engineering

£22.8 – £30 per hour Flexible Hours

Farnborough College of Technology offers exceptional teaching and learning facilities and is well known for its Engineering courses and was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted across all of its work. Our Business Services Department has an excellent reputation amongst our employer customers and we are looking to expand our vibrant team of work-placed assessor/trainers.

Due to increased demand, we are looking for an experienced assessor to become part of the team working with local employers. You will assess Apprenticeship Engineering candidates in the workplace. 

The successful applicant will have current industrial knowledge and assessor experience in Maintenance, Welding/Fabrication and general engineering up to and including level 3 although level 4/5 would be an advantage. Also an advantage will be to be able to assess electronics in the work place. This would be part-time to start with but the potential is there if the applicant wishes to take on more learners as the business continues to grow.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential:

• Competence to at least NVQ Level 3 within the subject area and at least one level above the level of the programme delivery is on.
• Hold the appropriate assessor and verifier qualifications (A1 and V1 awards) and engagement with conversion to new standards as required
• Hold qualifications as defined by the awarding body for current programme delivery
• Literacy and Numeracy qualifications to at least Level 2 / equivalent or be prepared develop a plan to achieve within the first year of appointment
• Willingness to deliver training flexibly across a range of hours as required by the employer

Desirable:

• Hold the appropriate verifier qualifications (D34, V1 or TAQA, awards) and engagement with conversion to new standards as required
