£32,400 – £38,400 basic + Car + Bonus
Our Client
A privately owned Manufacturing and Engineering company that manufactures a range of precision measurement equipment dealing across multiple market sectors including precision engineering companies, automotive, aerospace, fabrication and any manufacturing market that requires quality control. They are market leaders in this industry sector and have a large research and development function that continually delivers award winning products.
Role
The role consists of working within a strong new business development role through both an individual proactive approach and through full support from the internal sales team with the sales process being fast paced and involving meeting with clients and demonstrating equipment through to closure of sale. The Area Sales Manager will report directly into the Sales Director and work alongside the other Area Sales Managers to increase the company’s market share, build long lasting relationships, grow existing accounts through newly identified opportunities and proactively chase new business opportunities.
The candidate will:
- Focus primarily on new business by utilising a network of contacts in the local area.
- Reach out to current accounts, ensuring their needs have been addressed and developing any potential for a new lead/opportunity.
- Collaborate with the technical team to respond to any technical inquiries from customers and prospects for troubleshooting assistance, equipment recommendations, demonstrations, and more.
- Maintain customer data and other sales data (activities, opportunities, account updates) for current and prospective accounts in computer database (CRM).
- Quote prices and credit terms to assist in overall sales development as required, which includes participation in trade shows, market surveys and general market trend feedback to corporate office.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have good interpersonal skills. It is important for the right candidate to be commercially focused and be able to facilitate meetings with key decision makers of target businesses in the local area.
Due to the nature of the role the ideal candidate will have strong experience of selling a technical product into end users, oem’s or tier 1 suppliers. The candidate will ideally come from a business development and/or account management background.
