Job Details:

  • Provide front line support to staff and students on the use of IT within the school
  • Support the ICT Assistant Technician and ICT Technician in checking and maintaining the schools ICT resource, ensuring it is in a suitable condition for sage, effective use
  • Help create and promote an image of the school which accords with its aims
  • Be the first point of contact for staff and students who are experiencing difficulties with connecting to the ICT hardware and software
  • Work as part of the ICT support team, attending regular meetings when required
  • Monitor the ICT ticketing system for new calls and assist the Technicians in resolving problems
  • Record all new support requests received by telephone / walk-in in the ICT ticketing system
  • Perform routine user account maintenance including creation, disabling and password re-sets Perform basic tasks to maintain the Active Directory by updating data
  • Connect, set up and checks PCs and peripherals for normal operation
  • Perform basic PC hardware repairs
  • Be aware of safety issues with regards to the use of ICT equipment
  • Develop an awareness of consumable stocks and advise when re-ordering is necessary
  • Develop own knowledge by in-house training and observing other team members
  • Carry out such other tasks appropriate to the grade and post from time to time

Qualifications required: England – ideally 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English.

Training to be provided:

England – Systems & Networking Level 3 Apprenticeship – | 3 modules in Microsoft Technical Associate | City and Guilds certificate in IT Systems and Principles | City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in IT Professional Competence

Apprenticeship duration:

12 months

Working week:

37.5 hours (Monday – Friday, 9 – 5:30)
