Appointment of Academic Director Full-Time

An international college delivering GCSE, A Levels and Foundation to prepare students to enter British Universities. An understanding of post compulsory education at sixth form is required along with experience of HE guidance.

With more than 50 years of teaching excellence at our client’s College, and over 20 years of experience helping international students achieve their ambitions, they have seen their pupils win places at every university in Britain.

Many of their students have gone on to earn first-class honours degrees at some of Britain’s top universities, with half of A Level students graduating to the top 10 Times ranked UK universities in 2011, and three quarters of our Foundation course students graduating to the top 50 in 2011. The success of our clients’ students at university is due to the College’s modern and dynamic learning environment which combines traditional teaching methods with the latest e-learning technology and methodology.

They are currently seeking an Academic Director to provide leadership, oversight and co-ordination of teaching, learning, student affairs and administrative management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the academic management of the college, overseeing the delivery and effectiveness of the teaching staff, programmes and the overall quality of the academic delivery.

Reporting to the Principal the Academic Director will promote high standards to enhance the student experience.

The main duties of the role will focus on:
* Line management of the Programme Managers, Heads of Faculty and the Exams Officer.
* Budgetary management of the Academic Department
* Operational management of the academic provision within the College
* Contributing to the development of the College
* Ensuring a positive student experience

The ideal candidate will require a good first degree along with a teaching qualification and undoubtedly have experience of delivering outstanding A’ Level results as well as successful navigation of the UCAS process. Strong proven leadership skills combined with significant academic management experience is essential.
